Chest/Back/Shoulders - I've designed this intense upper body strength workout to focus on exhausting your chest, back and shoulder muscle groups with very little rest between exercises. In order to effectively reduce the rest needed between exercises, we will be working in eight rounds. Each round consists of one set for chest, followed by one set for back, and finishes up with one set for shoulders. You will continue to repeat this sequence throughout your workout but use a different exercise each time you hit your chest, back and shoulders. By not repeating any exercise throughout the program, you eliminate boredom and increase mental awareness.

Youll also see us taking notes to record our selected weight(s) throughout the workout and I encourage you to do the same. This way, the next time you do the workout you can make it even more effective!

Here is how the program works. Youll need to use heavy weight(s) in this XTrain workout and do between 10 and 16 reps for each exercise. I suggest first trying a weight that is about 70% of your one rep max and make adjustments as needed. Keep in mind if you can easily do 16 reps for any exercise you should select a higher weight the next time you do this workout. Likewise, if you cant do at least eight reps you should consider lowering your weight.

Finally, (and I cant stress this enough), in order for this workout to be effective, you need to select a weight and resistance tube that challenges you for each and every exercise while still maintaining good form.

I love the focused muscle work with heavy weights really leaves your muscles stronger. Great variety no excursuses repeated so no boredom. I love the music in this series. XTrain is fantastic.

This is Cathe heavy lifting at its best. The music is far superior to the LIS weight workouts and though it is a lengthy workout, there is no dread factor, because she avoids being repetitive and gives lots of form pointers. I definitely recommend this.

This workout is best used with the 1RM (one rep max) procedure to build the most muscle.  I get great results with heavy weights and this workout has zero dread factor.  You do each exercise once and move on.  Lots of premixes and add-ons.  The entire XTrain series is excellent and versatile.  Good music and good pace.

Cathe always amazes!  In these focus XTrain workouts, she creates a pattern of working each of the 3 targeted muscle groups in succession, and then you start all over again, but with no exercises repeated!  This is a dream for someone like me, who sometimes struggles with fighting the dreaded "dread factor" (fun pun intended) that threatens to overcome me when I know I have to repeat yet another round of the same exercises that I struggled through in the previous round!  Somehow, knowing I only have to do each exercise ONCE, I push myself much harder, I really do!  It also makes the workout time just fly by! And I think Cathe is a genius for realizing that!  Also love the 100 Rep Challenge!  The main workout is 51 mins, Core Bonus @ 10.5 mins, and 100 Rep Challenge @ 7.5 mins.  I like to do all 3 segments for a great, advanced, but do-able and FUN 69 min workout!
