To The Max.This multi-impact step workout never slows down! It starts off with a solid and intense step workout that gets your heart fired up to prepare you for the explosive step tabata drill. After you recover from that, you'll raise your step height even higher and do cardio interval blasts along with metabolic conditioning drills. This segment consists of movement patterns both on and off the step, mixed with total body explosive movements to ensure you have blasted off unwanted body fat and burned maximum calories. You'll conclude with metabolic core conditioning and a well earned stretch. Varied step heights and hand weight selections are used to enhance intensity. This is one of my favorite Cathe DVDs.  It has a lot of variety so you never get bored.  It is similar to Crossfire, with the main difference being that the step is used in To The Max.  I think To The Max is slightly easier, but not by much.  You work really hard, but aren't exhausted and can't do anything else for the rest if the day.  Love the music as well-the "sound alikes" are a little different but still enjoyable.  

The one thing I didn't like was that a lot of emphasis is put on shoulder work.  Towards the end of the workout there are two exercises that involve shoulder presses, which are then repeated, and then you go to the floor for ab work and you are doing more arm work by holding the weights.  It may not bother others, but I thought it was a little overkill.

Cathe, as always, is a great instructor, and I love that her crew consists of healthy-looking fit women, instead of a bunch of models who look like they couldn't even lift a ten pound weight!

To the Max and CrossFire are similar but different.  Both are definitely worth purchasing.  This workout has fun music, fun moves, a great variety to prevent any boredom, lots of premixes, great chaptering, variety of equipment.  Lots of metabolic or circuit style workouts don't get my HR up enough to make me feel like I got a good cardio workout - not this one.  I feel like it is definitely a great cardio challenge.

I seriously love this one to push me to the MAX it really lives up to its name. I love that there are 3 different rounds of tabata even a round using the step. What a great challenge to the heart. You want a fun challenge with an amazing instructor, music and moves this is the one for you.

I think this is the hardest Cathe DVD I own. The 30/20 HIIT section is killer. The step portions used to bother my knees (lots of jumping on and off), but I put a mat under my step and that helped.
I enjoy the music in this one -- it's similar to Cross Fire, but I like the music in To the Max better.
This one is fun to do all the way through, but as usual Cathe also includes some great premixes and chaptering, so you can pick and choose the parts you want to do.

This is a fun total body work-out with great music and instruction from Cathe Friedrich.  There's a step portion, a couple of tabata portions, compound strength portion, and floor strength and ab/core portion.  I definitely recommend this one!
