Body Sculpting Basics is a total-body workout designed by Founder of The Firm Anna Benson. Susan Harris leads a routine that astonished the exercise community when first introduced. For the first time, weights & aerobics were combined in one program. This is now a proven best method for simultaneous fat loss and muscle toning in the least amount of time.

The warm-up is followed by a Giant Total-Body set. Maximum poundage is used for lunges, squats and upper body. Cardio activities are inserted to keep the heart rate high. A notable giant floor set includes pushups. Tough and thorough, multiple body positions tone hips & thighs. Core and stretch exercises complete the workout.

An oldie but a goodie July 24, 2014
Reviewer: Poecat from Villa Rica, GA
I absolutely love this video.  I always feel that I have truly accomplished something after I am done.  It is a tough workout , but the cardio is basic, no chorography to learn.  It works every body part while keeping my heart rate up.  One thing I especially like is that I am able to go heavy on the weights.  Many of the Firm classics go so fast that you have to lighten the weights.  It has a long effective floor work section that I love.  It has never failed to give me DOMS.  This was my first exercise video and I still use it almost 20 years later.  You can lighten the weights for beginners or go heavy for advanced. I am so glad it is now on DVD.

I actually was a little disappointed in this... July 4, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from United States
I actually was a little disappointed in this and maybe it's because I have heard such great things about this. What I did like was Susan is a great instructor, all the moves are actually choreographed to the music and there is a lot of stretching between moves and this workout is tough which is all good. The floor work I thought was especially difficult. But what I didn't like was a lot of the aerobic portion was jogging--I don't need a workout to do that. I just wish they had done a few other things instead the jogging. Otherwise this is a good solid workout that if done little by little, most people should be able to eventually do.

I can see why others consider it the BEST July 2, 2014
Reviewer: Kristie from Decatur, GA United States
I remember the original Firm workouts when they first came out in the 80s, but I never did them back then. When they were re-released, I thought I would not like them because of the dated set and clothing. I was wrong! Firm Vol 1 is an outstanding workout, ahead of its time and it holds up well. The firs time I did it, I had been working out regularly. Wow! This is KILLER.  I could not do it with heavy weights, ankle weights or all the repetitions. As hard as it is, I can see growing old with this.

the best September 5, 2012
Reviewer: vero from italy
wow what a fabulous workout. It was just what I was looking for! I did the workout two days ago and still have pain, shame that came out after the summer, otherwise I would have been ready for a bikini body with this. In a month I have my brother's wedding and with this I'm sure I will arrive in top form. these are better than the classic firm new firm with them even though I have achieved wonderful results. thanks the firm

This is such a well orchestrated routine with great music and superb queing. This is the first workout that motivated me into fitness and using video/dvds. This remastered version is beautiful and smart with chaptering options.  I'm so pleased to have it back into my collection. A+++++++
