Elisabeth Halfpapp and Fred DeVito have developed their own unique fusion of yoga, barre and Pilates. Now they have expanded that philosophy to a bootcamp-style class.

This unique workout is ideal for a lighter day, and is sure to leave you feeling good.

5 of 5 Burpees Made Bearable :-) September 26, 2011

This workout was a pleasant surprise, with lots of upper body and lower body toning.  Elizabeth and Fred do a version of burpees that I can actually do (and don't mind doing!)  After lowering into a squat position, they add an extra little "pause" where you extend the ball out in front of you (or your hands, which is what I did) BEFORE extending your legs behind you, THEN bringing your legs back, THEN bringing your arms back, and THEN standing.  So it's (1) squat, (2) extend arms in front, (3) extend legs behind, (4) jump legs back under buttocks, (5) bring arms back toward body, (6) stand ... repeat X number of times.  I usually don't like (and do avoid!) burpees, but this didn't bother my knees at all.  

I also enjoyed the background drum music, and the stretch was delicious!
