Body Sculpting Basics is a total-body workout designed by Founder of The Firm Anna Benson. Susan Harris leads a routine that astonished the exercise community when first introduced. For the first time, weights & aerobics were combined in one program. This is now a proven best method for simultaneous fat loss and muscle toning in the least amount of time.

The warm-up is followed by a Giant Total-Body set. Maximum poundage is used for lunges, squats and upper body. Cardio activities are inserted to keep the heart rate high. A notable giant floor set includes pushups. Tough and thorough, multiple body positions tone hips & thighs. Core and stretch exercises complete the workout.

5 of 5 Still the outstanding workout ever!!! June 12, 2022

I bought this VHS tape in 1986 when I was only 16 years old at back then.  I was so happy when I find this on DVD version! I’m 52 and I can still do it. I still LOVE it.

5 of 5 one of the best workouts ever made July 1, 2020

I am a certified personal trainer and have been working out since, well since this workout was first made.  I highly recommend this.  Be prepared to work hard, but you can also modify as needed, or even use no weights at all to start out with.  This workout makes use of compound moves and mixing cardio in with weights for a very effective routine.  I now have over 150 workout DVDs by a variety of trainers in my collection and train clients, but I still come back to this one for its unique exercise routine.  Any level of exerciser can do this, whether modifying or maxing the effort out.  Highly recommend.  I totally believe this is one of the best workouts ever made and it will stay in my top 10 permanently.

5 of 5 I can see why others consider it the BEST December 10, 2017

I remember the original Firm workouts when they first came out in the 80s, but I never did them back then. When they were re-released, I thought I would not like them because of the dated set and clothing. I was wrong! Firm Vol 1 is an outstanding workout, ahead of its time and it holds up well. The firs time I did it, I had been working out regularly. Wow! This is KILLER.  I could not do it with heavy weights, ankle weights or all the repetitions. As hard as it is, I can see growing old with this.

5 of 5 The best home workout ever May 7, 2017

After I barely got through this workout the first time I did it, I became very motivated to master it. It is a tough workout and one that is a lot of fun with many different moves to keep it interesting. I love this workout and will keep it in my rotation forever.

5 of 5 An oldie but a goodie July 24, 2014

I absolutely love this video.  I always feel that I have truly accomplished something after I am done.  It is a tough workout , but the cardio is basic, no chorography to learn.  It works every body part while keeping my heart rate up.  One thing I especially like is that I am able to go heavy on the weights.  Many of the Firm classics go so fast that you have to lighten the weights.  It has a long effective floor work section that I love.  It has never failed to give me DOMS.  This was my first exercise video and I still use it almost 20 years later.  You can lighten the weights for beginners or go heavy for advanced. I am so glad it is now on DVD.
