Qigong Basics: Five Element Practices for Health and Wellbeing

Warm up For the Meridians - 20 Minutes
Five Element Forms - 33 Minutes
Organ Mudra Meditation - 23 Minutes

Qigong (chi kung) is an energy and intention-based practice that works with the principles of xing ming shuang xiu, meaning ‘the body and spirt are equally cultivated and refined’. Qi means ‘life force’ and gong means ‘to cultivate or build’. Thus qigong is the cultivation of life energy. While sometimes our qi can be healthy, balanced and flowing, when we are stressed, tense, or unwell, it can become stuck, stagnant, deficient or excessive. Regular practice of the sequences in this element-based qigong series can help maintain or rebalance the flow of energy in your body, supporting its innate ability to abide in a more balanced, healthy, natural state.

Qigong Flow: The Eighteen Forms and Eight Brocades for Organ and Meridian Health
Play All - 69 Minutes
Introduction - 1 Minutes
Eight Brocades - 31 Minutes
Eighteen Forms - 37 Minutes

In this qigong video, Mimi presents two well-known and accessible forms of qigong practice: the Eight Brocades (Ba Duan Jin), and the Eighteen Forms (Shibashi). Both sequences are excellent routines for beginner and advanced students of qigong. They work with qualities of meditative awareness while building strength and flexibility. They also are designed to promote health and balance in the body’s organ and meridian systems.

Eight Brocades: This section includes the Eight Brocades practices that works specifically to increase health and vitality in the organs, meridians and their associated emotional qualities.

Eighteen Forms: Mimi presents these eighteen Forms using fluid, unbroken movements and visualizations that help us connect more intimately to the elements of the natural world and its harmonious state of balance.

1 of 5 Soooo boring!! October 28, 2020
Reviewer: Coleen from NJ
I bought this and her other set when recovering from a herniated disc-at this time I had discovered Qui Gong DVDs by Lee Holden which I loved-I had ordered many of his DVDs which were amazing so when I saw these I decided to order.Unlike Lee Holdens DVDs,these move sooooo slow and seem to drag on forever-even with an injury I needed more-the scenery is beautiful and the instructor seems likeable but I just dreaded doing this ever again. She seems to move in slow motion and over the years I have ordered various “easy”workouts when recovering from an injury but doing this reminded me of watching a boring documentary on TV-even for a rest day, this was too dull and slow.

5 of 5 Fantastic!!!!! April 6, 2020
Reviewer: rose
I love these workouts. I found Qigong on a Flow workout from Baldera  and was looking for more. They are really hard to find.  I searched Youtube and found Mimi and Jeff Chand.  Jeff only has a website you can get on but saw these workouts from Total Fitness. I have gone through all the workouts and I feel fantastic. Nothing hurts anymore!!!! Better than Yoga and Tai Chi.   Sure hope I can find more. I am calming down and tightening up!!!!
