Lastics is a technique born directly from the world of dance that will give you a stretch workout like no other, and also change the way you think about, and understand, your body. Lastics was designed by Donna Flagg, a trained dancer, to give people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels a way to improve their flexibility based on techniques dancers use to stay lean and limber. Improved flexibility results from articulating your body in ways that isolate the ends of your muscles to gently pull them in opposite directions. Unlike methods that rely on external force to push a stretch, Lastics trains your body to move internally to stretch itself. That is how dancers move the way they do and also the key to their flexibility. They move from the inside first. This is what makes Lastics so different and it is a difference you will feel immediately.

In this hour-long DVD, a full body workout is broken down into four series that target specific parts of the body crucial to creating an effective and meaningful stretch. Also, included is a special segment dedicated to the most common mistakes and how you can correct them. You will move, perform and feel better with muscles that are longer, stronger, more supple and healthy from the inside-out and from end-to-end!

5 of 5 great active stretch January 15, 2016
Reviewer: Angela C from Saint Augustine, FL United States
This DVD has 5 tracks: 1 instructional and 4 workout. For a 30 minute session, I do workout tracks 1 & 3 or workout tracks 2 & 4. There is no menu on the DVD but it's easy to just skip ahead to the next track. The only move I have a problem with is a quad stretch in which you’re elevated on your hands. It’s hard on my wrists. Sometimes instead I just lie on my side, bend the top leg, grab my ankle and tuck my hips under to stretch my quads. I really like how these stretches release tension in my lower back, neck and shoulders. They’re great for the end of the day or the day after I do weight training.

5 of 5 Just what the physio ordered! September 4, 2014
Reviewer: RedPanda from Australia
Well, my physiotherapist didn’t literally recommend this DVD, but I was thinking about his form tips as I did “Lastics” for the first time last night, and I’m sure he would approve of Donna Flagg’s approach to stretching.

I re-injured my shoulder about six months ago, and despite all my stretching and mobility work, always wake up with a stiff back. After a reviewer on another site said this DVD solved her back problem, I decided to try “Lastics”. I’m happy to report that when I woke up this morning, my back was no longer stiff!

As other reviewers have noted, this is not a relaxing routine by any means, but you will feel great afterwards. Because Donna takes a lot of time setting you up to get the most out of your stretches, you can use her tips in other stretching routines.

If you work out a lot, suffer from chronic stiffness, or just want to become more flexible, this is a great DVD to work into your schedule.

4 of 5 Very Relaxed July 9, 2014
Reviewer: Bells
Just when I think I am flexible, I do Lastics and realize I am not.  This is a different stretching workout than I have ever done – you move while you stretch, rather than just “bend over and touch your toes”.  The instructor talks throughout reminding you of the proper form to use and even will show you pointers on another person doing the workout along with her.  Usual stretching videos, to me, are relaxing while doing them.  This, however, is not relaxing *during* the stretching and seems almost like a workout.  It isn’t painful, per se, but is definitely a deep muscle feeling.  After the workout I feel so totally relaxed and stretched out.  My body cracked all over the place (like cracking your back/neck) afterwards and it felt great.  I do wish there was more focus on the neck/shoulder area.

3 of 5 Mixed Feelings July 6, 2014
Reviewer: T from Tarpon Springs, FL United States
When I tried this I couldn't believe how fast the time went! I was expecting to do one or two sections but the entire time flew by. I'm not sure doing individual sections would have felt balanced enough to do alone as each part flows into the next.
Donna is very knowledgeable about the mechanics of stretching and getting the best results from the movement. She seemed to know exactly what I was doing and what needed fixing! However, you spend a lot of time in forward bending poses - and I mean A LOT! The entire first 15 min is in standing forward fold and while I usually like that movement, this was way too long. While I know stretching is good for me and I would probably see improvement in my flexibility, I don't think it's something I will reach for often because I don't like that much forward folding.
