4 of 5 A graceful space hog July 28, 2014
Reviewer: RedPanda from Australia
As other reviewers have noted, this is a wonderfully graceful and flowing routine which makes you feel like a ballerina.

But unfortunately, it requires just a little more space than I actually have. I can usually work around this limitation when doing other DVDs by shuffling sideways an inch or two, but the seamless nature of this workout makes this almost impossible.

In short, I would only recommend this DVD if you have plenty of workout space.

5 of 5 I feel like a graceful ballerina! January 25, 2010
Reviewer: Stephanie from BROUSSARD, LA United States
In my opinion, Kari is the Meryl Streep of exercise.  She comes from a ballet background so her movements are so intuitive to the body and she knows how to cue you in and out of things.  If you aren't that flexible there are options of doing two twenty minute sessions.  I often use this at the end of the day or in the morning when I'm running short on time.  It's also a great way to build up to the entire workout.    My body feels like it was massaged from the inside out when I'm done.  I love, love the music!  Kari is extremely musical with her movements as well.  She is truly a top notch instructor with much wisdom about the body.

5 of 5 ALC2 is an EXCELLENT workout December 13, 2009
Reviewer: fitdiva2007
ALC2 is an EXCELLENT workout. It's by far the most musical, intelligent and well thought out of all of the barre workouts. I think this workout is underappreciated because it doesn't give the 'burn' that some of the others do due to high reps. The stretches and the exercises are seamlessly integrated into the workout, unlike say Fluidity or Squeeze Stronger (both of which I also enjoy from time to time). The best way I can describe it is that it's truly a whole body fusion workout that is uniquely Kari. There are a lot of 'fusion' workouts but Kari puts a twist on the exercises that make it familiar to yoga, pilates and Lotte Berke folks, but challenge you in a completely different way. You don't do a teaser just to do a teaser--it's coming into a teaser so that you can move from side to side. You do what you think is going to be warrior pose, but it becomes a completely different animal under Kari's watch. Ultimately, this workout is about moving
beautifully through space and appreciating the art you can create with your own body. While I think this workout will help with flexibility and strength if done over time, it's better as a metric to see where you are in terms of strength and flexibility and how you've progressed. One caveat: those with wrist problems might have issues with this; Kari doesn't give a lot of modifications. Otherwise, this is a fantastic workout by a fantastic instructor!
