You’re one week away from a stronger body, mind and spirit, with the Ellen Barrett 7-Day Workout Challenge - a different workout everyday- making it super easy to get fit and stay inspired.

Each complete workout is 15, 30 or 45minutes in length and they are all ideally done barefoot – but at anytime, if you feel you need some sort of supportive footwear, go for it. It’s your workout and you should always be comfortable. You’ll need just the basics - a sticky yoga mat and light hand held weights (1-3lbs each).

Here’s your week ahead:

• Day 1: 30minute Feel Good Fusion - A barefoot mix of Pilates, dance and yoga - no equipment necessary

• Day 2: 15minute Power15 - An express muscle-conditioning workout that uses light handheld weights

• Day 3: 30minute Core Yoga - A mix of standing and seated ab-focused sequences - yoga mat recommended

• Day 4: 15minute Quick Cardio - Fun and easy rhythmic movement - no equipment necessary

• Day 5: 30minute Yogini Sculpt - Yoga with the added resistance – hand weights and a yoga mat arerecommended

• Day 6: 45minute Fusion BootCamp - An up-tempo and energizing fat-burning workout

• Day 7: 15minute Zen Stretch - A soothing to the soul, 100% seated, stretch class

I’m always on the lookout for good 30 minute workouts. I really like the three 30 minute workouts on this DVD.

Feel Good Fusion (#1) is a total body workout - low impact cardio and stretch. I had to modify one move (arrowhead pattern with the legs) because I’m just not that coordinated.

Power15 (#2) uses light dumbbells but seemed hurried to me. The Yogini Sculpt (#5) is much better. It uses dumbbells also but the moves seem less hurried and more deliberate and effective.

Core Yoga (#3) is an excellent yoga routine with a slight focus on the core. It includes plank crunches which I found doable because you aren’t doing too many in a set.

I viewed the Quick Cardio (#4) and Boot Camp (#6) videos but didn’t attempt them. The QC had too much impact for me and was hurried. The Boot Camp was too long for me & I shy away from anything ‘boot camp’.

Zen Stretch (#6) was very nice, appropriate for stress reduction in the evening. I just wish it was longer.
