Ballet dancers always have slender bodies that are both strong and lean with lovely proportion and gorgeous body lines. One of the greatest secrets to a dancer's body is ballet conditioning, which focuses on all muscle groups. In this unique program, shot on a breathtaking location overlooking the Pacific Ocean, your muscles will work smoothly in unison to create a long, streamlined silhouette with flat abs, a lean lower body and beautifully defined curves. Moving gracefully and fluidly through this series of exercises, you will strengthen and stretch your way to a dancer's body.

Elise Gulan has over 18 years in dance education including Ballet, Pointe, Tap, and Jazz. She was a principal soloist for the Virginia Ballet Company where she danced for seven years appearing in production such as Copelia, Swan Lake, and Nutcracker Suite. She brought her love of expression through movement to her new career as a certified personal trainer and instructor of Yoga, Core Fusion and Core Energy Flow. Elise enjoys helping her students to find their inner strength and to energize their joy of life through physical and mental fitness.

5 of 5 My favorite Ballet workout! February 27, 2016
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Somewhere in the Nord!
This is my favorite ballet workout ever...  It was love since the first try! I knew I was going into serious work and conditioning since the warm up, the barre work is effective, challenging but doable as there are not countless of reps for the same move, I love the full range of motion this kind of workout offers.  The cardio section (aka the jumps) is just plain fun! The abs segment is mostly Pilates and very challenging, and the stretch at end is great.  The music is lovely, the setting is relaxing and Elise (the instructor) is amazing, and I got noticeable results in just two weeks! What not to love about it?!  I wish there were more workouts like this!

5 of 5 My favorite ballet workout September 21, 2014
Reviewer: Claire from Olivehurst, CA United States
The barre work was intense and will leave your lower body shaking. I thought the cardio section was a welcome relief and served to shake out the legs, plus the jumps were fun. The abs section is pilates style and quite challenging. The ballet stretch feels wonderful and seems very effective for the work done. Elise Gulan's instruction and cueing are excellent.

I can understand comments about the dread factor, as this is a very challenging workout that you might need to build up to. After a while you'll get stronger and this workout will become much more doable (but still just as effective!). As to the comment about it being boring, I'll admit there is a lot of repetition and the moves aren't very unique, but any barre/ballet workout focuses on repetitive moves targeted on the lower body. More specifically, this is ballet, not barre, so the whole point is to be doing these classic conditioning exercises and not anything more creative, like what you'd find in various barre programs.

3 of 5 I Should Love This July 22, 2014
Reviewer: T from Tarpon Springs, FL United States
This has all the elements I normally love: serene ballet moves, beautiful outdoor scenery, controlled movements rather than flailing around. However, I have dread with this workout. At times the moves are a little too controlled so that it feels robotic to me. The free standing moves have some plie jumps and I don't like impact. And the ab section is really hard and it makes my neck hurt. I don't mean to sound like a whiner because it's a beautiful workout and I've heard people get awesome results with it. Unfortunately it's not for me.

4 of 5 looks easy but... July 7, 2014
Reviewer: Roya from Arkansas
This is a good lower body workout... Every time I do this one I keep hoping for it to end, and that is a good thing.  My arms get tired too, but that is just from holding them up in the air for so long.  This is not one of my favorites since I like to have a fun factor in my workouts.

2 of 5 Not for me July 6, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Canada
This dvd was in lovely location. But the moves where boring and I was awaiting the whole time for it to be over. Something was missing for me in this the enthusiasm and the moves where just dull. Maybe some hardcore Ballet types might like it. Great location to film a dvd.
