Hard Strikes is an outrageous boxing-infused cardio workout that mixes basic boxing combos with intense cardio work. The punching combos are fun and easy to learn, but by no means easy to do. Some kickboxing is included in this sectionbut the primary focus is on boxing. Once the cardio segment is complete, youll continue with boxing specific conditioning drills that will make you look and feel like a champ. A bonus heavy bag section is included with the premixes for thisworkout to enhance your boxing experience as well as give you the means to strike even harder and more effectively.

Youll see us wearing 12 ounce boxing gloves during the entire cardio boxing segment (in addition to the Bonus Heavy Bag section). While it is perfectly fine to do the cardio boxing segment without gloves, I strongly encourage you to wear them. Youll be amazed at how this ramps up your boxing efficiency and overall workout intensity. As with any workout, you get out of it what you put into it so follow our lead and strike hard!

This is a workout that has grown on me. The first time around I did not care for this workout at, but now I like it for its quick get in and get out cardio segment.

The warm up moves right into the workout.  In other words you can't tell when the warm up ends and the main part of the workout begins.  

Expect lots of jumping jacks. Cathe uses them as transitions moves - either to get you from one side to the next or to take you in a completely new exercise.

There are two boxing combos - jab, cross, hook, upper is one. The other is double jab cross twice duck upper.
Towards the end, Cathe throws in mini blasts such as ice breakers and pop squats to increase the intensity.
The gloves come off and then you move into some mostly core/boxing inspired conditioning moves.

I don't prefer these kinds of workouts, but it is fun and different than the regular cardio workouts I do.

I would categorize this as more Intermediate as I don't get an intense cardio workout - more conditioning.

Really fun and what a great way to get out aggression. I love that you can get a great sweat with a really good thought out workout with grey flow. The music is really motivating in this one. I love Cathes dvds so much because of the great music. I like that there is a tabata with the heavy bag a lot of fun. No dread factor you feel fierce after this.

I almost gave this five stars, but I wish Cathe would have made the boxing segment longer and skipped the conditioning section. The cardio w/boxing gloves and the heavy bag segments are fun! Because there isn't much choreography, you can really focus on giving it your all.  Decent balance of upper body, lower body, and core in the boxing section. Love how the heavy bag tabatas are pure punching!
