HiiT stands for ‘High Intensity Interval Training’ and is hands-down o ne of the best ways for you to burn fat without causing your body to catabolize its own muscle tissue.

HiiT features three different high-intensity routines that are about 30 minutes in length, making these workouts perfect to use on days when you’re short on time.

The first ‘HiiT’ workout is 30/30 at 38 minutes, and as the title suggests, each interval is divided into 30-second high-energy plyo reps, followed by equal 30-second rests for a total of 16 tough intervals.

The second ‘HiiT’ workout is 40/20 at 29 minutes, and it includes 16 intervals. Each is divided into 40-second high-energy plyo reps, followed by 20-second rests. Three additional one-minute breaks are spread throughout the program.

The third ‘HiiT’ workout is Double Wave Pyramid at 30 minutes. In this workout, two rounds of intervals are separated by and only one-minute rest. Each round is followed by a pyramid cycle of nine intervals. The first set starts with a 20-second interval, and works up to the top of the pyramid with each interval increasing by five seconds. It then works back down the pyramid, decreasing each interval by five seconds.

I love this workout!  Very intense, but over before you want to quit.  In fact, sometimes I double up and do 2 back to back for even more intensity.  Before I was in really good shape, I did the 40/20 first and thought I was about to pass out.  If you have never done this type of workout before, start with the 30/30 (still hard though....).  I do this workout probably more than I should, but it is so fun, fast and I feel so accomplished afterwards.  As a bonus, the Pyramid section can be used on travel since no equipment is needed.  GET IT!

This is one of the better offerings from the "Shock Cardio" series; some of the other DVDs were criticised for lacking intensity but "HiiT" delivers — and then some! The shorter, very intense workouts are great as add-ons, or on their own if you are pressed for time, and the countdown timer keeps you working hard. This one is a keeper!

This one deserves more than five stars. It is high impact, so probably not one for folks with joint issues. Each of the workouts is intense but Cathe balances out the tougher moves with those that are a bit lower on the intensity scale. Also, the breaks between blasts are long enough so you don't end up with oxygen deprivation. Even though all three workouts are tough, I enjoy them.

If I could give this more stars I would!  I have so far ´only´ done 40/20! WHat a workout!  If you are looking for a fab . challenging workout that pushes you out of your comfort zone and makes you sweat in under half anhour, buy this!!!!!!!!
