Muscle Max, approximately 72 minutes in length, is a total body, moderate to heavy weight training workout. This workout focuses on the effective basics and is sequenced in a manner to deliver results. While this workout can be done 2, but no more than 3, times per week on its own, it can also be used in conjunction with the Gym Style workouts as a way of targeting all the body parts a second time per week. I've always liked the exercises, but I remember "back in the day" being somewhat annoyed at how long they sometimes took to set up their weights (I stick with dumbbells). Well, I'm older and wiser now, and appreciate those mini breaks so much! This workout is great as a long, full body experience or you can use one of four excellent premixes. Still a great workout after all these years, and this particular Cathe team (featuring Lorraine, Jai, Cede and Brenda) has always been my favorite.

This is a complete weights training workout, with fantastic music!  Although I have a barbell, one could just use dumbbells as a substitute for the barbell segments.  The barbell allows you to lift heavier, but it's not strictly necessary (in my opinion).  Get this DVD is you want a thorough weights training workout!!

I usually do the premix as upper body and lower body, but the entire video is for full body.  I use a bit heavier of weights to make it more of a heavy weight workout versus an endurance workout.  Easy to do moves, but they work.

This is a full body strength workout which was tough without causing dread. Don't let the fact that this is billed as an advanced workout deter you from enjoying it!

Very thorough and there weren't too many reps or sets to make me not want to do it again. You do short stretches between each exercise (except for the ones you're supersetting) and a nice short stretch at the end.  Overall, a very effective workout, and one of my favorite Cathe strengths routines.

PROS: I really liked the music in the workout. For me, the time flew by because of the music. Cathe gave many form pointers and joked a little bit, but remained professional. I liked that she added in the band work to break up the monotony. Finally, I liked that this workout didn't seem to be rushed like her Pyramids. There was time to change weights or get a piece of equipment in place. OR take a much needed breather :)

I absolutely love this workout! I do a lot of intense workouts and love a challenge, Cathe definitely challenges me. She has pushed me to a new level. I love the premixes. I can work on just one body part, do a quicker full body workout, or do the whole body. I am definitely seeing results and in a quick time! A must have dvd!
