5 of 5 Barre with an athletic twist July 6, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from United States
Leah took barre and infused them with some larger body movements, yoga-inspired moves, and an air of athleticism. I got very strong doing her workouts. The lower body is my favorite of her DVDs, though I enjoy them all. It's a great mix of exercises and hits everything in the legs well with mostly standing work and a little on floor to finish you off before a long stretch. She instructs in voice over, which doesn't bother me but some people like to know. She is off with cueing very occasionally, but generally has clear instruction, though I think for a beginner to barre, there are better DVDs for form tips.

5 of 5 Ballet Body is the best out there! July 6, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Pittsburgh
The first few times I did this DVD I used a chair and didn't much like it. However, I tried it again after doing a few of Leah's downloads and used the railing at the top of my stairs. Being able to pull against the railing made a huge difference and vastly increased the intensity. The first portion of the workout is standing glute/thigh work. I'm always relieved when it's over, except that it is followed up by killer bridge work. There's a nice stretch at the end.

I personally like Leah's serious delivery - her alignment cues are great. The music is a bit odd but it doesn't matter much to me when the DVD is this good. I prefer the athletic nature of Leah's barre to all other barre styles.

5 of 5 Great, innovative lower body workout December 13, 2012
Reviewer: Livingroom Athlete from New Zealand
Leah's barre work really is some of the most innovative around, and the Lower Body Workout DVD offers a great taster for those that haven't tried the downloads, as well as a time efficient well-rounded "best of" some of her download work for those who love the downloads.

The alternating between glute and thigh work at the barre is my favourite aspect of this. The pace is deliberate, and you can really work deep into the movement. I wish she'd included a couple of short stretch breaks during the barre work (it is intense!), but I usually stop and add these in myself. I need them!

5 of 5 Burn, baby, BURN! January 31, 2012
Reviewer: Yvette from Australia
Just finished this DVD as part of the advanced rotation laid out by Leah on her website and I'm now officially hooked on Ballet Body.

Leah starts by taking you through a brief warm up and then it's time to work every part of your lower body at the barre, in the centre and on the mat, not stopping for 40 mins. The 13 minute stretch segment at the end is very thorough and welcome.

I wear a HRM when I work out and although these workouts are not frantic in pace at all, they burn more calories per minute than any other barre workout.

These DVDs are the best purchase I have made in years. Leah truly is a genius!
