I enjoy this workout - it's one of my favorites of hers (love circuit burn too) this one seems a bit lower-key - she's 'nicer' in this one as far as 'take a break' type talk instead of her usual 'I'm using 15s what have you got?' - the first workout has cardio and cardiosculpting which is kinda fun. the cardiosculpting is mostly arms and is also a 19 min premix by itself. the 2nd part has standing and floor toning- including pushups. I like how the floor work is at the end. I haven't done a lot of the premixes yet but have done the cardiosclupting by itself a couple of times (that's a lot for me since I don't usually do a KCM or any particular workout on a daily or every day basis) to do something 2x in a month means it's good! I've done either this or circuit burn at least 1-2x a week for the past couple of months

Really engaging workout for beginners and beyond February 12, 2015

I really, really enjoy this DVD. Right now, I am caught in a really busy time of life and this DVD has given me the option to do basic and doable, but not super easy, workouts. I think this DVD is less appropriate for total beginners than restarters and "beginners again" for whatever reason. Kelly gives form pointers, but doesn't explain moves as should be done for someone who has never used weights. They seem more like reminders. Kelly's attitude is supportive, but she is not condescending and she doesn't talk down to the exerciser as sometimes happens in beginner DVDs.

I loved how well thought out the moves where. You can make it harder by using harder weights. I really enjoy doing this one it feels like getting down to the basics in a good way. It is a great one to do with your friends or family that are just starting to workout.

For beginners and beyond July 6, 2014

When I have taken too long of a break from exercising, my go-to workout was always Slim in 6's Start It Up.  I was so glad to discover Start Here.  It is great for a beginner and can be used for lighter days or for days you want to get back to basics.  Kelly is one of the BEST instructors out there, and with her premixes, there is variety and no boredom factor.  A keeper and highly recommended!

Not Just for Beginners July 6, 2014

I'm not new to fitness or recovering from an injury, but I really like this workout. The cardio is easy to follow and won't trip you up with confusing combinations. I would say it's about the same intensity as Leslie Sansone workouts. I mostly got the workout for the toning portion. She takes traditional moves and gives them a fresh feel. You can go as heavy as you can (she goes fast enough that you won't be able to really heavy up), but I get an excellent workout because the moves are basic enough that I can really concentrate on form. Kelly tends to add interesting twists to her moves and a few of those show up here, like "thread the needle" with a hand weight. I like the versatility of this dvd and I love Kelly as an instructor because she's no-nonsense and has good form pointers, yet comes across as friendly.
