Ballet Fitness is a unique fusion of ballet and fitness programs created by ballerina and professional choreographer, Nicky McGinty. In addition, Ballet Fitness will help you locate and strengthen your core muscles and flatten your tummy. These sequences consist of barre work, floor work and some great dance routines. Practising these routines will help you build a long, lean, strong ballet body and help you lose weight.

I didn't feel like doing anything strenuous tonight but did want to move, get some gentle toning in and work out the kinks just before bedtime.  So I tried this workout for the first time.  The initial core work was a surprise.  I dislike working my abs and back and try to skip those body parts whenever possible, but this workout made the experience so enjoyable that I did all those segments, moved on to her lower body workout and, before I knew it, finished the entire workout ....  Nicky McGinty's gentle British accent is perfectly pitched for this workout and the Ballet Fitness soundtrack is truly exceptional.  (Its rendition of "Nutcracker Suite" makes this a particularly good workout to do during the holidays!)  Classical Stretch and Essentrics fans in particular shouldn't overlook this gem.  It's along the same line, but with a ballet focus.

This is a very lovely routine for the intermediate who wants a ballet style workout. Nicky has a soothing and clear voice and a beautiful English accent while she instructs in a voice-over style. I loved the flow of this and the exercises were effective without overdoing the reps. The music is wonderful and the set and her pace are perfect as well. Not too fast or too slow-very moderate and this is different than a lot of the ballet inspired routines out there, yet it would compliment those well.
