I gravitate to functional fitness workouts. This is one of my favorite Tracie Long videos.  The focus is strength, and it has a Firm-like feel to it.  Tracie's form is perfect, and her form pointers help me to get the most out of the moves. I also appreciate her pace, not too fast or slow.  It hits the whole body, and you can go heavy or light.

This is a workout that I wanted to like more than I do.  Overall, I think it's a well constructed workout, although she does work the shoulders a bit more than what I find optimal.  And, the workout does flow.  But, I just prefer other workouts of hers more.  Tracie has a place in my workout collection, but I tend to need only 2-3 of hers to get what I need from her style of workout. If you want a Tracie Long strength oriented workout using multiple sets of dumbbells, this workout may be for you.

Tracie Long always puts her own stamp on her workouts; they are creative with fresh moves and a functional fitness feel, incorporating balance, agility, core strength and rotational movements. All of these elements are featured in “Defining Shape”, a strength workout which combines conventional strength training, functional training with light weights for smaller muscle groups, some yoga and Pilates-inspired moves and even some barre-style toning. In true Tracie style, these moves flow together seamlessly.

As always, Tracie's cueing and form are impeccable and she never wastes a moment.

I felt like this thoroughly worked me. It has a killer squat segment and a nice stretching segment. My only complaint is that the floorwork section feels a little short. Otherwise, a good solid workout with an excellent instructor. Tracie has impeccable form and gives good pointers throughout the workout.
