Supersets is a unique 53 minute full body weight training program that incorporates a series of exercises that are grouped by varying body parts and performed in rounds. While this may not be the traditional association that many are used to with supersetting, superset training is also classified as doing two or more exercises at a given time with little or no rest between exercises (or sets).

Many exercises also contain a non-traditional set (ie: up 4 down 4, low ends, lunge forward lunge back then jump for 4 etc.) The music is fun and recognizable. Push Pull is a 45 minute total body workout which features many new and refreshing exercises to keep your muscles stimulated in new ways. The focus of this workout is to promote muscle balance as well as strength and endurance gains through exercise variety and balance challenges. We use the stability ball quite a bit in this workout to create this added balance challenge which in turn promotes even greater muscle recruitment. It's important to point out that when using a stability ball you should use a lighter weight than you typically would for a given exercise since the unstable environment makes the muscles work harder to stabilize. As your body gets acclimated this "wobbly" environment you'll find that you are able to gradually increase your weights again.

The premix options on this 2 workout set make it a winner. There are lots of options. The three-set push-pull leg workout is a killer--the rep pace is slow enough to go heavier and to focus on form. The upper body work in both PP and SS provide a variety of different exercises.

Two great, but different workouts.  The Supersets workout provides little rest between exercises to keep your muscles working.  The push/Pull workout I especially like since I feel more balanced after this type of workout.  And by using the push/pull method, the workout can be shorter due to less rest time and you can get a full body workout in.

This is a great total body workout with a low dread factor. Cathe works the push muscle followed by the pull muscle, hence the name Push Pull. She does two exercises of each body part, which is great. Lots to love with this workout: interesting exercises that go beyond just endless squats and lunges, interesting stability ball exercises, premixes, shin exercises (how often do you see THAT in a DVD), all under 45 minutes. The exercises flowed really well. And I liked the music.

Cathe offers many form pointers throughout. By just using the weights she uses, it is an intermediate workout. I was very pleased at the end that it wasn't Cathe's typical "death by reps" style of training.
