I bought this workout because I really like Michael Olajide's older Aerobox workout. This workout is structured very similar to the old one: rounds consist of normal pace combos with light hand weights and faster combos without weights, and end with squats, but in Savage & Serene Michael also throws in a couple minutes of jumping rope in each round and so the overall intensity is higher. Combos are considerably less complex than in older Aerobox video. I prefer more complex combos which challenge my memory and coordination more, but this workout still feels tougher than Aerobox, so they both will find place in my rotation. The only thing I totally didn't like about this workout is that he keeps saying "come on man" about 5 times during the whole hour and it feels kinda strange, why does he address this workout for male audience only? I won't comment on the Serene portion, I don't plan to do it.

I was looking for an advanced, challenging workout - and wow, did I find one! This is good - so good. Really fries the shoulders/arms, and works the lower body really intensely as well. I would definitely recommend this for busting through a fitness/weight loss plateau. Even if you aren't an advanced exerciser, I would still recommend this, as you can build up over time. There are four rounds, and you can just start with one, and build from there as you get stronger, also adding light hand weights to up the intensity in some parts. A lot of dvds are quickly outgrown as we make strides in our fitness, but this is worth the money as you will get use out of it for years to come. =)
