Type of Workout: Aerobics & Toning

Fitness Level: Intermediate through Advanced

Equipment Needed: Light hand weights & barre (could substitute chair)

Total Running Time: See Below

Release Date: 2008

Region: 0 (Worldwide)

This DVD includes four workouts: Intro, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each workout progresses to a more difficult level by increasing the tempo of the music, the length of the workout, the amount of repetitions in each exercise, and the difficulty of the exercise. Each workout includes a warm up, Plie, Ballet, Waist, Cardio Barre Thighs, Upper Body, Abs Lower Back, Lower Body & Cool Down.

These are unique core-based exercises that combine barre work and light weights with continual fat-burning motion. Central to the workout are resistance and toning exercises for the butt, thighs torso and arms to sculpt muscles and elongate the body.

Total Running time:

  • Intro - 20 minutes, 144 bpm
  • Beginner - 37 minutes, 150 bpm
  • Intermediate - 40 minutes 160 bpm
  • Advanced - 52 minutes 172 bpm
We listed the DVD as Intermediate through Advanced only because our beginner standards for our ratings are for someone new to exercise in general and tend to label basic walking or chair exercises as beginner. The beginner workout is suitable for someone new to barre workouts.

Non-stop full-body workout January 21, 2010
Reviewer: Li from Brooklyn, NY United States
I purchased the portable barre kit that included this DVD and have already done the intermediate about 10 times.  I like how this is non-stop (so I don't have time to feel bored).  I like the fast pace and energy.  I'm not sure if it is enough cardio but I could always add-on 30 min of another cardio workout.  It strengthened my ankles, which were hurting from my extra weight.  I can work up to the ult advanced but am staying at intermediate because 40 min is a good length for second workout of the day (after toddler sleeps at night).  I hope to use this second workout to break my plateau of losing 10-15 pounds.

Great workout with lots of room to grow October 29, 2009
Reviewer: Homeworkout Mom from GA
I really like Cardio Barre.  The workouts are fast and fun with great energy.  I also like the 4 levels so that you can concentrate on your form with the slower (but not slow)pace and then move up when ready.  And, with 4 complete workouts, it's a great value.  Highly recommend this one.

Tough, Fast, & Fun! October 28, 2009
Reviewer: Angela from United States
I'm a barre newbie and while total beginners may not like the fast pace, if you've been exercising for a while and can make yourself pay attention to form, this is for you!  It DOES move very fast, which some people view as a negative, but I love it.  Talk about workout bang for you buck....4 workouts is an awesome deal.  I'm still using and loving the intermediate workout the most.  I can't wait until I'm good enough to do the ultra fast advanced workout.  I like the instructors and the more you pay attention to form the more you will feel the burn.  Be careful not to flail around or let your form go due to the fast pace and/or when you are getting tired.  This and P57 have turned me into a barre fan.  I can't get enough!!!  Buy it!

I LOVE CardioBarre!!!! October 28, 2009
Reviewer: Judy Asher from Salem, OR United States
My Best Find of 2009! Love CardioBarre! Richard is a pleasant instructor, very calm and not over the top. There are four complete workouts on this DVD and they get progressively more difficult. It is very important to start with the Intro workout so you get your form down because these are very fast paced workouts. If you are looking for a "traditional" Barre workout, you will probably be disappointed. This workout is,without a doubt, a Barre workout that definitely "steps out of the box". The floorwork is pretty much all tried and true classic lower body exercises and I love the CardioBarre floorwork. You will feel this workout and you WILL sweat as there is definitely a cardio aspect to CardioBarre, it is the best of both worlds, this one does it all!! I HIGHLY recommend CardioBarre, it is worth every penny!
